See ya, Bare Legs!

Sweater & Skirt: Target
Top: Loft
Socks & Earrings: Kohl's
Boots: Alloy

The cold is finally here!  I shouldn't say finally because I'm not really thrilled about it.  I can officially say goodbye to my bare legs for a few months.  See ya, you will be missed.   At least it's starting to feel more like the Holiday season!  NOW I'm ready for Christmas!

I wore this outfit while wedding dress shopping a couple of weekends ago.  Yes, I ALREADY bought a dress.  I decided to make a trip just to see what was in my budget.  I ended up buying the very last dress I tried on.  I obviously can't go into details since Drew reads my blog everyday.  I honestly didn't think I'd walk out with a dress.  The moment I put this one on,  tears started flowing!  It was meant to be.

Let the Planning Begin!

Top & Boots: Target
Skirt: Banana Republic
Socks -Vera Wang for Kohl's
Belt: Thrifted

I wore this outfit while cupcaking and thirfting on Saturday.  What a great day that was. I love how a pair of yellow tights and a skirt can be worn so casually.  Most people think jeans when they think about dressing down or being comfortable.  For me, a skirt is always my go to.  But you all knew that.

Did I tell you Drew and I set a date?? Oh yes.  August 25th, 2012 !  We wanted a fall wedding and a specific venue so this is the closest we could get.  I'm beyond excited! I'm a planner by profession so you can only imagine how my mind is racing!  We had thought a little bit about waiting until Fall of 2013 but quickly decided that planning for two years just wasn't going to cut it.  We have our venue and ceremony site booked so let the planning begin!  I can't even describe how happy I am ♥

Too Much Food

 Dress: Forever 21
Jacket: Kohl's
Shoes: Old Navy
Scarf: H&M

Hope everyone had a fantastic Thanksgiving.  Drew and I had 4 Thanksgiving meals that day. Yes, four. We weighed ourselves when we got home just for giggles.  It wasn't so funny when I saw the results.  3lbs for me and 4 for him.  Combined that's the size of a baby.  Phew.  Good thing I wore this comfy dress all day. Plenty of room for stuffing and turkey.

On top of all the Thanksgiving hooplah, we went cupcake tasting this weekend.  I'll let the picture do the talking.

Cougar Shoes

Jacket:  Lauren Conrad- Kohl's
Earrings: Kohl's
Top: Loft
Pants: H&M
Scarf & Shoes: Target
Bag: Jessica Simpson

Apparently these are my "cougar shoes".  At least that's what the lady walking behind me at Target said.  Um lady, if you're going to talk about me let's bring it down to a whisper.  Sheesh.

I went shopping for my little sister's sweet sixteen gift.  Ugh, I can't believe it.  It seems like just yesterday I was babysitting her and chasing her all over the house.  Now, she's all grown up and so beautiful!

Love you Madison, Happy Birfffffday!

Copycat (meow)

Dress & Top: Target
Shoes: Old Navy
Bracelet: Kohl's
Charm Necklace: Charming Charlie
Bead Necklace & Belt: Thrifted

Between blowing my nose, coughing, and medicine head, I've had no energy to come up with outfit ideas. Have you ever had a NyQuil hangover?  Trust me, it's bad.  And no, I don't take NyQuil for recreational purposes.

Anyway,  when I came across this little number by Molly at Urban Nester,  I had to recreate it!  Of course I wish I had the leather dress she's rocking, but I had to work with what was in my closet.  I like how it turned out. Dress turned jumper, I guess you could say.

Attack of the Neutrals

Skirt: Banana Republic
Top: Loft
Blazer & Tights: Target
Boots: Alloy
Bag: Michael Koors - Gift from my fiance

Whoa dude...black, gray, and brown?? Yes, this is happening. Since starting this blog my style has changed so much.  I'm much more willing to take risks.  Just a couple of years ago I would have never thought to wear black and brown.  Now, I'll pretty much wear these boots with anything!
I'm home sick today. No good.  These shots were from yesterday.  My face was pretty much swollen and my nose was bright red from blowing it.  I figured I'd spare the face shots.  The blog is about the outfit anyway, right?

Don't forget...

New Tights

Cardigan & Top: NY & Co.
Skirt: H&M
Tights: Target
Shoes: Payless

I can't figure out what color these tights are.  I was in such a hurry to rip them out of the pack that I didn't bother to check the color name.  I guess I'd say coffee or maybe even a clay color. I think the picture kind of throws it off. They aren't really as red as they look in this picture.  Either way, I love them.  I really like the pop of color they added to this all neutral-ish outfit.

I'm in love with doing my hair like this! I taught a girl at work how to do it and she's wearing one today. I love it.

Don't forget about...

Freakishly Warm Outisde

Dress: Loft
Jean Jacket: NY&Co.
Boots: Alloy
Belt: Thirfted
Scarf: Target
Bracelet: Kohl's

We are having freakishly warm weather right now.  I'm not complaining though.  Usually this is the time we all cry about how cold it is outside.  I'm usually already over wearing tights at this point.  So, thanks Mother Nature for letting the legs breath a few extra days.

I'm on a roll with spring/summer to fall transitions.  This was one of my favorite dresses to wear this Summer. It's so easy to transition by simply adding a pair of boots or even tights.

Do you have a favorite spring to fall outfit transition?

Outside

Top: Target
Pants: Forever21
Shoes: Old Navy
Scarf: H&M

My first official outside shot. Drew and I went on an adventure yesterday trying to find a site for our wedding ceremony.  I think we found it.  I decided that the coast was clear enough to snap a few pics.

I think this top and these shoes were the best purchases I've ever made.  Both less then $20, can't beat it.  I think I've worn them both about a dozen times this week.  So easy, comfy, and they go with anything.

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.  I'll be back in blog-action this week for sure.  I have my very fist giveaway I'll be posting tomorrow.  Make sure you check back!

Crazy Crazy

Dress: Modcloth
Tights: Kohl's
Shoes: Jessica Simpson - DSW
Jacket: NY & Co.
Earrings: Charming Charlie

These pictures were taken before the craziness!  I figured since I've been slacking on outfit posts this week, I'd go ahead and post these anyway.   I promise once all this sets in I'll go back to having regular posts.

This is the dress I wore for my birthday in July.  I think pairing it with black really makes it stand out.  Another example of turning a summer dress into a fall outfit!

We're Engaged!!!

We went to dinner to celebrate his birthday and he asked me to marry him! I think I've told the story about 1,000 times now but I'll go for another:

We show up to Orchids at the Palm Court and were seated at a pretty awesome table overlooking the whole restaurant.  Every server that came to our table made sure they wished him a happy birthday.  We ordered the 5 course dinner and ate like kings.  It was time for dessert and they brought out just one plate.  The first thing that popped in my head was "Man, I don't want to share my dessert!"  The plate had a silver cover on it just like all of our other plates.  They put the plate down and pulled out the table.  At that point I had no idea what was going on.  They pulled the top off the plate and there was the ring. I was so busy looking at the ring I didn't even notice Drew on one knee next to me. I looked at him and said "Are you kidding me?!" Are you serious?!?!"  It was perfect.  Afterward he told me we had to stop in to show his mom really quick.  I was calling my dad, brother, and mom and no one would answer!  I was so upset.  We pull up to the resturant where his mom was and both of our families are in there waiting for us.  I just cried and hugged everyone.  HAPPIEST MOMENT OF MY LIFE.  After seeing everyone there we walked across the street to our favorite bar and ALL of our friends were there.  This kid....he had this planned out so well!  I was so impressed.  I seriously had no idea he was going to do this.

I swear I fell in love with Drew all over again Saturday night.
