Getting Used to Casual

It's been great getting into the casual dress code at work. I feel like I have so many new outfit options without even shopping. My blog is sort of changing direction too.  Showing off a new side of my style, I dig it.  I have a feeling my shopping trips will be much more exciting,  business casual won't be on the brain so much anymore.  Now, I need to figure out how to incorporate all of my skirts without looking too over dressed.

Yes, I'm wearing pants AGAIN! Breathe Bre it's okay! Maybe I should clarify for those reading for the first time.  No, I do not have an issue wearing clothes on my bottom half. I'm notorious for wearing a lot of skirts. So, having more than one outfit post involving pants is rare.

Any big plans this weekend? A bunch of us are going out tonight. A much needed celebration with one of my besties to celebrate our new jobs!

No, I didn't rock the red pants to work. I will though! Just give me time.  I wore this number to my besties' little girls first b-day party.   Can you tell me a better way to debut a pair of red pants? I didn't think so. 

Don't give up on me yet! I promise to have regular posts soon.  I am just trying to get in the swing of things at work. Exciting news though! My first event is in Vegas in March! We are planning an awards party in-conjunction-with Global Shop.  GlobalShop is the world’s largest annual event for retail design and shopper marketing. Pretty exciting stuff!

Outfit Rut

I was in an outfit rut this morning.  You know, kind where you stand in your closet and stare forever as if it's completely empty.  Ever have that happen? After trying on a ridiculous amount of outfits for 6:30am, I settled with this one. My room now looks like a garbage pit.  Once I got to work I quickly decided I hated it.  Okay, maybe not hate but pretty close.   I think it was just the cuffed jeans with these wedges. It could be that I'm not used to dressing down for work.

I know, I'm too dressed up. I just can't hide the fact that I love to dress up all the time. I decided to just lay it all out there today on my second day. I wore this outfit on my last day of work with Kroger and never had a chance to snap pictures.  I couldn't let it go unseen. I can't get enough of this dress. Regardless of how much static it attracts, it's perfect.

I'm back!  My exam is over and I started my new job today. Phew! Finally back to real life! My first day was fabulous. I'm going to absolutely love my new roll.  I can't wait to share more about the events I'll be planning.

I was stuck in a rut when trying to plan my first day of work outfit. I wasn't sure just how casual their casual dress code was.  I think I made the right choice. Having the new casual dress code will allow me to be more creative with my outfits and venture out of the blazer with pencil skirt looks I've been rocking for so long.

As you can see I switched up the outfit idea.  I ended up buying these shoes at DSW with the gift card my dad gave me for Christmas. Thanks Pops! NYE was wonderful! We had dinner with friends and then a long night out dancing. My feet were killing me by the end of the night. 

I hope everyone had a lovely NYE.  This is going to be a big exciting year for Drew and I! I can't wait!  Next to the usual get in shape and eat healthier new year resolution, I think my biggest is to make more time for family and friends.
