I made myself presentable for the one day I had to work this week. I was beginning to feel like a slob spending all of that time at home in my pj's. If I wasn't studying so much I'd probably be bored to death or out shopping and spending money I shouldn't.  

I'm in love with this skirt! Good job Mom!!! It's so comfortable and completely different than anything I have in my closet. I have a feeling you'll be seeing a lot of this skirt.

NYE Outfit Idea

I don't know about you but New Years Eve outfit planning is always a big deal to me.  I love to get all dressed up to go out and dance.  With all the Christmas shopping and our strict wedding savings, I decided to shop my closet for this year's outfit. I put this together using Polyvore. LOVE that site. The dress I have in mind is actually the black dress in this post .  I have shoes almost exactly like these except they have a closed toe.  Not to mention MUCH cheaper from Kohl's.  The only shopping I might do is a shiny belt and some jewelry.

I spent most of the day studying in my baggy pj's.  I had to make myself somewhat presentable for a study date this afternoon.  I thought instead of skipping an outfit post, I'd share. I'll call it my study gear. My exam is getting close. A week from this coming Saturday to be exact. 

Oh-em-geeeeee.

Putting this outfit together made me realize I just don't have too many pairs of  jeans to choose from.  I've had these forever. I love the way they fit me but the bottoms are torn to shreds from wearing them with flats. They're too short for most of my heels and too long for flats.  For me,  jeans are one of the most difficult things to shop for.  Length is always my issue.  I know, I know, get them hemmed.  That's something I just don't do but probably should.  The company I will be working for has a casual dress code, so my urgency for some new jeans will increase dramatically. Any suggestions? What's your favorite brand?

5 days left at Kroger, 18 days until my exam,  20 days until I start my new job.  A bit overwhelming.  I'm stressed about the test, emotional about leaving my Kroger family, and nervous about my new career adventure. I just want to say thanks to my friends, you too Drew, who have been there for me lately. You know who you are.  I feel so lucky to have people in my life that care so much.  Heartchoo.

Ugly Christmas Vests

Finding more uses for this sequin skirt!  Drew and I went to an ugly Christmas sweater party Friday night.  SO much fun.  We did our christmas thirfting way too late and could only find vests.  It's okay because they were hilarious!!!

Another festive outfit! This is one of my favorite winters skirts. It goes with just about anything and it sparkles! What woman doesn't love something that sparkles? I have to admit, all of this holiday eating is making my clothes a bit snug.  It's not even Chrstmas yet! I thought holiday food was calorie free!?!

A Christmas Themed Week

Christmas is my theme this week.  Our department has a holiday luncheon scheduled every day this week with different vendors. So, I figured I'd be festive.  I've been practicing getting up earlier since my commute to my new job will be much longer.  I had time to curl my hair,which NEVER happens.  My hair is extremely  thick so it takes about 30 minutes to make this happen.

My days are numbered as a Meeting Planner for Kroger.  It's bittersweet.  I've been an emotional mess lately.  I've been slowly cleaning out my desk and training the other planners on my meetings.   I've been at Kroger for 8 years and spent just about everyday with these ladies.  It's like leaving family (crying as I type this).  I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for them.  I'll miss them so much.

Finally! I can talk about my news!!

I recently accepted a new Event Planning position outside of Kroger.  This is such a big step for me and my career.  The company provides industry trade publications such as books, magazines, and websites.  They host a big event for each trade magazine that I will be responsible for. The magazines focus on retail design, graphic design, and boutique hotel design. Right up my alley!  I get to work closely with the publishers and the marketing department to develop these events from scratch.  I start January 9th.   I feel like the position was tailored just for me!  I can't say just yet, but I'm thinking this could be my dream job :)

I feel somewhat guilty for making this an outfit post.  You've seen this dress with every item I'm wearing just not simultaneously.  Like I've mentioned a billion times before, this is my go to dress. 

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend planned!  Drew and I are going on a date night to my absolute favorite restaurant, Local 127.   He's been out of town over the past couple of days so I'm really looking forward to this night out with him.

This is my favorite color combo, hands down.  It's the perfect shade of yellow and red without looking like Ronald McDonald's sister. I love it.  I spent too much money on this top while back.  I won't go into detail because it was completely out of character and I'm ashamed. I fe1l in love the second I saw it.  It's so comfortable and fits so well.

I've been slacking on my blog so much recently. For good reason though! I have some more good news to share with you but I can't just yet.  No, I'm not pregnant!!  There's just so much going on in my life right now, it's crazy! Sometimes I don't know how I keep my head on straight.   My exam is coming up January 7th.  I am so excited to get that overwith!  I'm a studying machine right now!
