Shoe In Review: Pointy With A Bow

DSW - Mojo Moxy

If you've been following my blog you know I don't wear pointy-toe shoes. No real reason other than trying to avoid having feet like my grandmother when I'm older. These shoes are a perfect example of my obsession with a great sale. I fell in love with them second I laid eyes on them. Even more so when I realized they were 50% off. I knew immediately I had no idea if I'd actually wear them BUT a girl can't pass up a great sale! Right?? They've been living in my closet for a couple of months now and I've yet to wear them. They scare me because I have NO idea how to style them. I'm not sure why they scare me, they're nude and brown. Simple, right?!

Soooo...

I'm reaching out to YOU for help.

What do you think of them?  How would you style them?

Shoe In Review: The Summer Wedge

Since Fall is just around the corner I thought I'd do a review on the summer wedge. Sort of an ode to this summer shoe that will be locked away over the upcoming cold winter months. The shoe that will be missed but not forgotten. The shoe that is oh so comfortable to wear when standing for a long period of time. The shoe that isn't best for walking down steep hills.  The shoe that doesn't always look quite right with tights.

Here are some of my favorite summer wedeges that call my closet home...

Elle - Kohl's - My newest babies. Just 7 bucks on the clearance rack!! I'm thinking I could pull tights off with these bad boys.

Payless - One of my favs!

Target - You've seen these shoes a lot since last summer!

Target - Worn in our engagement photos!

Madden Girl- DSW - Just saw these on the clearance rack!

Minx - Burlington Coat Factory - My 28th B-day shoe!

Michael Antonio - Burlington Coat Factory

Unknown Brand - DSW - Thinking these will also work with tights.

Goodness, I have a lot of shoes.

My Professional Look

Top & Bracelets: H&M - Skirt: Target - Shoes: Rusche - Bag: Kohl's

It's been a long time since I've worn an outfit like this. It's amazing how dressing up can put you in such a great mood. This is a perfect look for an interview or any sort of work event. I don't know about you, but if I have a big meeting or an interview comign up, I always stress about what i'm wearing. Why do that to yourself?! Just throw a button up and a pencil skirt together, and boom! Done. It says This girl knows what she's talking about! Well, at least that's how it makes me feel.

Shoe In Review: Banded Platform Heel

 Shoes: Sway Chic

The ladies from Sway Chic sent these lovely platform heels to me this week. I'm absolutely in love wtih them!  The banded strap has to be my favorite detail. Platform heels are much more functional  when they actually support your foot, which these do. Theses heels are super high but the banded straps make them so easy to walk in.  They'll look great with skinny jeans, skirts, or even tights in the fall! They run a little big so if you plan to add these bad boys to your shoe collection, be sure to order in a half size smaller. Check them in our in brown too!

Open-Back Dress

Dress: Ruche, Shoes: Sole Society, Jacket: NY&Co.

First, I'd like to apologize for not showing off the best part (my favorite part) of this dress. I mean, it's the one detail that made me realize I need this dress in my life.  I'll admit, I got lazy. Putting on the "sticky-booby" bra was just going to be too much work. Maybe I should also apologize to Drew for keeping my hair in the ever so messy knot-do for our date night before his weekend away. Anyway, I'll just share one of our engagement photos with you so you get the true feel for this ADORABLE dress...

Shoe In Review: Current Obsessions

For my first "Shoe In Review" post I thought I'd share a couple shoe styles I'm currently obsessing over. While I'm on a sort of shopping hiatus, it doesn't hurt to browse around and plan my next shopping attack. Macy's has a great buy 2 get one free sale right now. So great it might just put my hiatus on hiatus.

Obsession #1: The Pointy Toe

Jessica Simpson Shoes, Jaide Pumps

GUESS Shoes, Myrick Single Sole Cap Toe Pumps

Both pairs are buy 2 get one free. The blue pump also comes in leopard with a camel color bow on the back. CUTE! You know, for a woman who loves shoes as much as I do,  you'd think a classic pointy toes would be in my collection. I need to fix this. I am literally drooling over theses pairs of shoes right now.  Seriously. It's gross.

Obsession # 2: The T-Strap Sandals

Jessica Simpson Shoes, Bansi Platform Sandals

Look at these! Jessica Simpson can do no wrong when it comes to shoes. I love the glitter detail on the heal and platform. Great pair of shoes for a girls night out!

Jessica Simpson Shoes, Shama Platform Wedge Sandals

These shoes would go with anything. Dress them up or down, I love them!  They're the best type of shoe to wear out when you know you're going to be on your feet for a long period of time.

Maybe I should make my shopping hiatus begin next week?

Classic & Simple

Top: H&M, Skirt: Banana Republic, Shoes: Steve Madden, Necklace: Charming Charlie, Bag: Target

You just can't go wrong with a classic button up and simple black skirt. This is usually a go to of mine after standing hopelessly for hours in my closet. It always works and it always will.

Well, I'm back and boy have I missed you. I'm not technically back from anywhere, just a break. I'm so happy to be back in action with my blog. I love blogging. Really. It makes me happy even if no one ever read my posts. Stay tuned for weekly wedding updates and the long awaited "Shoe in Review" posts.

Have a lovely!
